Preschool Dance

Location: Creative Edge Studio | 710 Montauk Highway, Montauk

Preschool Classes are suitable for dancers ages 2.5 - 4 years old. Dancers enter the 45 minute class independently to discover the joy and freedom in movement, improve sensory awareness, eye-body coordination, body awareness, spatial relations and social skills. Appropriate dance shoes are required for classes. Please arrive five minutes prior to the scheduled start time with your dancer ready in their dance attire and shoes.

Wednesday | 10:00 - 10:45 | Ballet + Tap Combo at MTK Childcare Center

Wednesday | 11:30 - 12:00 | Toddler Tumbling (with Adult Participation)

Class Description

Ballet + Tap • This exciting fun-filled preschool program blends the magic of childhood imagination with movement and the underlying principles of dance. With imaginations fully engaged, preschoolers use scarves, rhythm sticks, ribbons and more as they are introduced to dance elements and movement fundamentals. Children also work on body control, listening skills, balance and coordination. Required Shoes: Ballet & Tap

Hip Hop • Hip Hop is a popular class concept that infuses the funky style of hip hop with the technical side of jazz. Students will learn the fundamentals of each style such as isolations and flexibility. This class will encourage students to dance outside of the box and bring their own personality to each movement. We pride ourselves on being a family oriented dance studio and go out of our way to find clean age-appropriate music. Required Shoes: Jazz

Tumble Time • In this 30 minute class we will introduce basic tumbling and movement to toddlers by exploring different ways our bodies can move.  *Requirements: Parent or Caregiver must be present with child

Open classes meet once a week and focus on training in a specific style of dance.  Students are encouraged to participate as a way to continue their dance education over the summer. 

AVAILABILITY

First come first served basis: 9 students - must have a minimum of 3 students registered to run class.
