In 2015 Laura was honored by Members of the Montauk Playhouse and recognized for effective leadership and services to her community.
Triple Threat - Vocal Instructor
Karen Hochstedler enjoys bringing laughter into the learning environment. Her broad experience in teaching and coaching people of all ages, lends to her passion for developing necessary foundational skills for the creative arts. Over the past 25+ years, Karen has found a multitude of ways to participate in the world of music and theater, while raising six children.
While her own kids were young, she ran a “mobile” studio, teaching Musikgarten classes from Montauk to Bridgehampton. She also was invited to teach sessions of music and movement at the local elementary school where her kids attended. In Karen’s experience, music directing over 20 productions and many theater camps, she has had the privilege to work closely with several directors and choreographers. Over the past two years, she and Laura Sisco collaborated for the theater productions at East Hampton High School as well as East End Young Arts productions. Now they want to provide Creative Edge Studio’s students with exciting learning opportunities, more specifically design for the musical theater interest.
